What we collect
Account information: your email address, display name and preferences when you create an account.
Project data: the documents and files you create or upload, and technical metadata needed to run the service (compile logs, version history, chat and collaboration data).
Contact messages: anything you send us through the contact or feedback forms, including any file you attach. We keep these for up to 365 days so we can resolve your request, unless you tell us otherwise.
Usage basics: page views and product usage, collected through Google Analytics (see “Analytics” below), the URL you were on when you contacted us, browser/OS information and IP addresses, used to keep the service secure and working.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Inc.) to understand how the site is used in aggregate so we can improve the product. It collects page views, approximate location, and interaction data, and shares that data with Google under Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Analytics is opt-in and never loads until you consent. Nothing is sent to Google until you choose “Allow analytics” in the consent banner, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time using the control below.
How we use it
To run the editor, compile your documents, store your files and keep your account secure.
To respond to your messages and improve the product.
To understand aggregate usage so we can make the product better.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
What we never do
We never expose the contents of your documents to other users.
We never add tracking to the bodies of your documents.
Subprocessors
We use hosting and infrastructure providers (including servers and object storage) to operate the service. Your project data lives on those systems.
If you self-host TexStylus, all of your data stays on your own infrastructure and this policy applies only to the services we host.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account and projects at any time. What you delete is removed from the service within a reasonable period.
Contact messages are retained for up to 365 days and then deleted automatically.
